The last time I checked in it was a quick peep in early Feb when I was heading back to Seattle after working a 3 week contract payroll job in California. Mom and I were about to attempt the insane task of selling the jewelry at the HUGE Northwest flower and Garden show.. well, it's amazing what a few months can change!
I apologize, those of you on teh Books of Face might be getting a bit of a repeat but bear with me.
We proceeded to make a TON of Jewelry. almost 700 pieces worth of jewelry, gonna be stocked for a while!
The show was less than awesome. First, I got sick right before and for the first few days of the 5 day 11hr per day show. 2nd, it really wasn't the right place for us. Not "gift" oriented enough, people were shopping, but for stuff for the garden, plants, accessories, tools etc. Not really jewelry. We managed to about make back our cost, but that was about it. Lesson learned, and Mom's going to steer clear of the huge shows from now on.
Right before heading back up, I had applied for a job in California, wasn't really thinking of relocating, but the job was awesome enough it was worth trying. During the setup and prep for the show, I got a callback, then a phone interview, then 2 skype interviews (I told them flat out I didn't have time to come down for a face to face till the show was over, so skype was the compromise) then the request for an in person interview as soon as the show was done. Well the show ended Sunday, and Wed they flew me down to San Francisco for interviews, and Friday..
...I got offered the job as Payroll Accountant for Burning Man!!!
(There MIGHT have been a teensy bit of squealing involved, maybe, perhaps)
As soon as I calmed down from the OH HOLY CRAP I GOT THE JOB phase, the oh my goodness I start the 13th and it's the 1st and aaaaaaaaaaaaaah pack all the things commenced. I proceeded to repack everything I had unpacked over the year I had been in Seattle and also sort through some of the stuff that's been in storage in prep for heading BACK to California. Sometime I feel like a yo-yo! Packed what I'd need for a month in the car, put all the rest of the packed stuff in storage (at mom's) till I could come back for it, and headed to Cali.
Arrived in Cali, staying with some wonderful friends, and started work. (It's wonderful awesome BTW). My second weekend Caro and I went to open houses looking for a place for the two of us to move into together. We loved the third place we looked at, applied, and got it! (yeha, life has really been moving THIS FAST). Turned in applications Sunday, and monday morning he got back to us we had it, wed dropped off a deposit, then yesterday we dropped off the rest of the deposit, signed the Lease and got keys!!
It's an awesome bottom flat in a completely refurbished Victorian in West Oakland off Telegraph (so not too bad a neighborhood) It's a 2.5bd/2ba place with a big living room, and open kitchen and dining room. The .5 room is small and oddly shaped and has no closet, so we are going to turn it into a craft/book room. A lot of new appliances, all new electrical, plumbing and double paned windows. It's gorgeous. Not much in the way of yard or view, but we can deal. There IS a back yard, it's just small and not currently landscaped.

So I have 2 weeks of work under my belt, I think it's going to be an awesome fit, and this weekend Caro and I move all her stuff into the new place. I am borrowing a futon from a friend until I can fly up and drive the truck down with my bed and other things! (which will be April 20th)
Sooo excited!
